The Resource Centre has been established as a Community Tourism Centre. It will be a single access information point for tourists to all matters tourism, hospitality, heritage and culture. A Community Tourism Committee has been formed in Ballaghaderreen and surrounds and they are welcoming new members.  Introduction to Computers Classes

Computer classes are run on an ongoing basis in the Centre. These classes are very individual based and can cover many aspects of using a computer from turning it on to shopping and paying bills online! Do you want to learn how to send an email or skype a relative abroad? Do you want to learn how to type a letter or use a digital camera?.  Supervised Evening Study

Evening study is available in the Resource Centre for Secondary School students. It runs Monday to Thursday from 4:15 to 6:15. Cost is €10 per week, discounts available for families. Contact the office on 094-9862565 for further details and to book your place.

 The County Roscommon Job Club

The Jobs Club is located in the Resource Centre. They provide a drop in centre with internet access and local newspapers for job seeking purposes. The Job Club assist in preparing CV’s, improving interview skills and identifying job opportunities. They run short part time courses in Job Seeking Skills throughout the county.All Job Club Services are free of charge to all Job Seekers. The opening hours in the office are Mon – Fri 9:30 – 4:30. MABS hold outreach clinics in the Resource Centre by appointment. Call 0761 07 2720 to make your appointment. The Roscommon Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS) is the only free, confidential, independent and non-judgmental service for people in debt, or in danger of getting into debt, in Ireland. MABS works with clients by supporting them in drawing up realistic budgets and maximizing their incomes. MABS also supports clients in dealing with their debts according to their budgets. MABS does not give “financial advice” – they do not advise clients on investments or on specific financial products. MABS also does not give out money.

CI are in attendance in the Centre every Wednesday morning from 10 until 12:45. They provide free, confidential, independent and impartial information to all. If you need advice or guidance on many issues in day to day life then you should visit the Citizens Information in the Centre. CIC provides comprehensive information on public services and on the entitlements of citizens in Ireland. Are available in the Centre. Weekday evenings during the school term, from a fluent French speaker, if your looking for a help in conversational french or if your preparing for exams then call Tommy on 087- 7609102 to book your place. All levels catered for.

Ballaghaderreen Mental Health Association meet monthly in the resource centre to promote positive mental health in the local area through various projects.Volunteers are always welcome. Please contact 094-9862565 for details.
